This project consists of the demolition and reconstruction of the City’s Water Treatment Plant. The existing Water Treatment Administration Building was constructed in 1969 with a second-floor addition added in 1986. The building does not meet current hurricane standards. An Engineering Investigation and Assessment performed by C3TS Architects - Engineers in 2012 identifies conditions that require extensive renovations or replacement of the building to meet current standards. The design elements of the project include a 1,000 SF motor control building attached to a two-story 12,500 SF administration building constructed to meet current Category IV hurricane standards. A Master Drainage Plan for the entire site will also be designed and permitted with this project. Upon completion of the new building, the old administration building will be demolished, and a staff parking lot will be constructed in its place. The buildings will be designed to meet the City’s current Technology Requirements.
