Social Service Programs
All Social Service programs and groups are located at the Tamarac Community Center (TCC), 8601 W. Commercial Boulevard. Unless noted otherwise. Call the Information and Referral line at (954) 597-3626 for more information on social service programs that may be available in Broward County.

Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is accessible to income-qualified Tamarac residents, subject to supply availability. Appointments are necessary and can be scheduled every 3 months. To determine eligibility, kindly complete the Tamarac Food Pantry Application. Donations of unexpired non-perishable items are welcome and can be dropped off at the Tamarac Community Center located at 8601 W Commercial Boulevard.
When: 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month.
Pet Pantry
Tamarac pet owners experiencing financial hardship may be eligible to receive free donated dog and cat food from the Tamarac Pet Pantry. Food pick-up appointments can be scheduled. Kindly complete the Tamarac Pet Pantry Application. Please note that appointments are required as supplies are limited. To make an appointment, please call (954) 597-3626.
When: 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Hear for Good
Free hearing tests and discount hearing aids through the non-profit foundation, Hear for Good Inc. Consultations are by appointment only. Please call (954) 597-3626.
Note: This service is NOT available during the summer months of June, July, and August.
Circle of Support
Led by a licensed mental health therapist, guests will learn strategies to cope with life changes such as loss of a loved one, health challenges, daily living activities and relocation. Class will be held at the Tamarac Community Center. Space is limited. Advance registration is required by calling (954) 597-3626.
When: Mondays, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Tax Program
Broward Tax Pro, formerly known as Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is offering free tax return preparation services at the Tamarac Community Center. To make an appointment, please call (954) 597-3626.
THE YMCA OF SOUTH FLORIDA
Free Tamarac Tech Literacy Class, two-hour sessions of free tech support to include computers, tablets, mobile phones, wi-fi connectivity, email, zoom and other commonly used applications.

When: Monthly on the 2nd Monday and the 3rd Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

TEEN PARENT GROUP (Guiding Good Choices (GGC).
Free 1-hour weekly interactive sessions, providing tools to help navigate raising your child. The class includes discussions on Parental Stress and Self-Care. To register for this program, please contact: Whitney Rolle: wrolle@mhs.net or Alina Shaw: alshaw@mhs.net
When: Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
This program is intended to provide support to Eligible Tamarac residents during an immediate and verifiable emergency on a one-time basis.
