Claude is an artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to help people read, write, and understand information more easily. Like other AI tools, Claude communicates through conversation, responding to questions or requests using clear, natural language.
Claude is created by a technology company called Anthropic and is often used for tasks that involve reviewing documents, summarizing information, explaining topics, or helping with writing. It does not think or feel like a person. Instead, it looks for patterns in information to provide helpful responses.
People commonly use Claude to:
Summarize long documents or reports
Explain complex topics in simpler terms
Help draft emails, letters, or written content
Review text for clarity or tone
Assist with research or learning
Claude is one example of what’s called a large language model, or LLM. This simply means it is a computer program trained to understand and generate written language. Like all AI tools, Claude’s responses should be reviewed by people for accuracy and appropriateness.
AI tools like Claude are designed to support people—not replace them. The Digital Business Hub will continue sharing easy-to-understand information about different AI tools so businesses and residents can make informed and responsible choices.
