🌐 City of Tamarac Metaverse Initiative

The City of Tamarac is embracing the future of digital engagement by launching a pioneering Metaverse Pilot Project using Meta Horizon Worlds Desktop Editor. This initiative represents a bold step in reimagining how the City can use immersive technologies to connect with residents, improve civic participation, and enhance access to services.

Through this project, the City is designing a virtual replica—or digital twin—of key locations such as City Hall and other civic landmarks within a 3D, interactive environment. Built within Meta’s Horizon Worlds platform, this space will be accessible from both VR headsets and standard desktop browsers, offering broad usability to residents, students, and staff.

🔍 Key Objectives of the Metaverse Proof of Concept:

Host public meetings, informational booths, and town hall discussions in an immersive setting that promotes dialogue and participation from anywhere.

• Interactive Learning and Youth Engagement
Offer students and community members immersive educational tours of government services, local history, and Smart City technologies.

• Digital City Exploration
Let users “walk through” City facilities virtually—viewing lobby layouts, service counters, and informational kiosks—before visiting in person.

• Smart Park Integration
Feature interactive park tours that showcase amenities, recreational programs, and Smart Park features such as Wi-Fi, sensors, and digital kiosks.

• Virtual Event Hosting
Enable virtual attendance for major events, community celebrations, and public forums—removing barriers caused by distance or mobility limitations.

• AI-Driven Assistance and Accessibility
Explore future integration of AI-powered virtual guides that can answer questions, direct users to services, or translate content in real time.

• Planning and Development Visualization
Use immersive scenes to present conceptual plans for capital improvement projects or zoning changes, helping residents understand and visualize future developments.
