EGG HUNTS AND SPRING-THEMED POOLSIDE GAMES ARE EXPECTED DURING TAMARAC’S SPRING EVENT SERIES

Children running with basketsTamarac, Fla. (Feb. 27, 2025)  The City of Tamarac is excited to invite the community to celebrate the arrival of spring with five unique, citywide celebrations.

 

The spring series starts on Friday, March 7, with the three-part Groove on the Grass—Concert in the Park open-air celebration. Guests can enjoy musical entertainment, food trucks and inflatable rides. The spring series begins at Caporella Park, 5200 Prospect Road, from 7-9 p.m., featuring a Stevie Wonder tribute band, Hotter Than July. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. On-site parking is limited; please park at the Caporella Park Overflow Lot, 2400 NW 53rd St. Photos of the 2024 Groove on the Grass are available online. Event admission is free and open to the public.

 

Next, calling all mini-minions! The Hollywood blockbuster film "Despicable Me 4" will kick off the three-part entertainment series, Movie in the Park. On Friday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m., families can enjoy the movie on a giant inflatable screen at Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77th St. Festivities include pre-movie lawn games, inflatable rides and local food trucks offering a variety of tasty delights. Event admission is free and open to the public.

 Hop over to the Caporella Aquatic Center, 9300 NW 58th St., for a child-friendly egg hunt at the annual Wet & Wild Egg Splash on Saturday, April 5, at 10 a.m. The egg hunt will be divided by age group for kids 2 to 10. Pre-registration is required online at www.Tamarac.me/EventsEvent admission is $5 per guest and is open to the public. Bring your basket and join Peter Cottontail on his quest to find colorful eggs on Saturday, April 12, at 10 a.m., at the Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77th St. The vibrant event includes spring-themed arts and crafts, food trucks plus bounce houses, and meet-and-greet sessions with Peter Cottontail. The outdoor egg hunt is intended for ages 10 and under. Photos of the 2024 Peter Cottontail Springfest are available onlinePeter Cottontail’s Springfest is free and open to the public.

 

The spring series will close with the City’s monthly open-air food series, Food Truck Fridays. Join some of South Florida’s most popular food vendors and trucks at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd., on Friday, March 28, at 5 p.m. Check it out each month as the food truck roster changes. Food Truck Fridays is free and open to the public.
