TAMARAC, Fla. (November 4, 2021) – The City of Tamarac has opened registration for its most celebrated Thanksgiving tradition, the Tamarac Turkey Trot 5K, which dates back to 1980.

This year marks the Tamarac Turkey Trot 5K. In 2020, the race took place virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For more than four decades, this long-standing tradition has brought residents from Tamarac and its surrounding communities together for a day of celebration, fitness and fun. 

Registration is open to runners, walkers and wheelchair participants of all ages. The first 1500 registrants will receive a commemorative Tamarac Turkey Trot t-shirt and headband. All runners completing the race will receive a finisher medal. Trophies will go to the top three overall male and female finishers and age group winners.

Online registration is available until noon, Nov. 24, at www.runsignup.com/tamaracturkeytrot. Entry fees are $30 until Nov. 15, $35 from Nov. 16-24. On race day, registration is $50 per entry.
