OVERVIEW
The Neighborhood Partnership Program is a community development initiative committed to building beautiful, healthy, and active communities. Through this program, neighborhood associations, homeowners’ associations, and organizations can compete for grants to improve their communities—such as beautifying public spaces, upgrading neighborhood signs, median landscaping, and street tree plantings in rights-of-way.
Eligibility REQUIREMENTS
- π Property and project must be located within the City of Tamarac and in a community at least five years old.
- π‘ Must be an active neighborhood or homeowners’ association registered with the City.
- π₯ Association must have elected officers and meeting minutes documenting elections.
- ποΈ Must be a Florida not-for-profit corporation in good standing.
- π Must have an Employer Identification Number (EIN).
- ποΈ Existing homeowners’ association can be utilized.

Must have no current code violations.
Eligible Projects
- π Projects must be visible and accessible from a public roadway.
- π‘ Improvements must benefit the entire neighborhood and involve residents.
- ποΈ Projects must be identifiable as shared community assets.
- π Upgrades to existing neighborhood or subdivision signage.
- π³ Median landscaping, low water-use landscape projects, hedge replacement.
- π± Removal of nuisance species and street tree plantings in rights-of-way.
- π‘ Enhanced lighting projects and solar panels.
- ποΈ Small outdoor fitness structures and exercise stations.
TERMS
- β Neighborhood must match at least 50% of the City’s contribution.
- β Contributions may include cash or sweat equity from residents.
- β Grants capped at $4,999.
- β 20% of grant withheld until project completion and inspection (waived for 100% sweat equity).
District Award Breakdown
Each City Commission District will receive a $10,000 per year maximum contribution, with an additional $10,000 funded at-large.
