(Feb. 3, 2025) – The City of Tamarac invites the community to the vibrant and inclusive One Tamarac Multicultural Festival at the Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77th St., on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 4 p.m. This free event promises an exciting evening of cultural celebration, featuring spoken word artist Rebecca “Butterfly” Vaughan as hostess, and captivating main stage performances by Cachi Y Saoco Nuevo and Dancing on the Ceiling, a Lionel Richie tribute band.

While no passports are required, attendees can experience different cultural customs by visiting the open-air celebration. The festival features a vendor hall with more than 15 delectable on-site food trucks, ranging from Caribbean cuisine and frozen delights to local businesses packed with educational literature to tabletop culturally inclusive arts and crafts activities. Festivities include a kid’s zone filled with bounce houses, face painting, life-size lawn games and photo opportunities with performers.

Festival goers can learn about international traditions during the cultural performances on the community stage by Thai Nattasin, Venezuela Danza Y Tambor, Voces De America, Drake Irish Dance School and the Junkanoo Band from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The musical entertainment kicks off with Cachi Y Saoco Nuevo, led by Latin percussionist Phil Cachi Velez, delivering energetic beats and rhythms. The headliner, Dancing on The Ceiling, a soulful 8-piece tribute band, will close the night with iconic hits from Lionel Richie and The Commodores. To end the evening, guests will enjoy a mesmerizing laser light show.

Established in 2018, the One Tamarac Multicultural Festival showcases Tamarac’s diversity, inclusivity and commitment to highlighting various identities within the community. In past years, One Tamarac attracted nearly 3,000 attendees.

Event parking is limited. The City will provide free continuous shuttles from Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW 88th Ave., and Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd., between 3:45 and 7:30 p.m. Shuttle service will resume following the laser light show.
