Tamarac, Fla. (March 3, 2026) – As spring blossoms, the City of Tamarac is excited to announce a vibrant lineup of community events, including the popular Movie in the Park series and the fun-filled Wet & Wild Egg Splash.
The season kicks off on Friday, March 6, with Groove on the Grass: Concert in the Park. Neighbors, families and friends can enjoy a live outdoor performance by Zaya, an “American Idol” contestant known for their powerhouse vocals. The concert will be held at Caporella Park, 5200 Prospect Road, from 7 to 9 p.m. Festivities include lawn games, food trucks and inflatable rides. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair. Groove on the Grass is free and open to the public. There is no on-site event parking; however, a free continuous shuttle will transport attendees from Redeeming Word Christian Center, 2800 Prospect Road, to Caporella Park from 5 to 10 p.m.
The celebration continues with two Movie in the Park screenings. Families can relax under the stars as “Lilo & Stitch 2” is shown on a large inflatable screen on Friday, March 20, at Tamarac Park, 7501 N. University Dr. The series continues on Friday, May 1, at Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77th St., featuring “Zootopia 2.” Each event begins at 6:30 p.m., with games and light bites from on-site vendors available. The movies start at 8 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Blankets, chairs and coolers are allowed. Pets are not permitted.
On Saturday, March 28, at 9 a.m., at the City’s Sensory-Friendly Egg Hunt, children can enjoy a calmer, gentler and less noisy egg hunt experience. The Egg Hunt is located on Baseball Fields #1 at Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77th St. Pre-registration is required and is available online at Tamarac.me/Events. Capacity is limited.
Following the sensory-inclusive Egg Hunt, guests are invited to join Peter Cottontail on his quest to find colorful Easter eggs. Peter Cottontail’s Springfest begins at 10 a.m. and includes face painting, food trucks, family-friendly games, age-group egg hunts for children 10 and younger and photo opportunities with special characters. Residents can also make a splash at the annual Wet & Wild Egg Splash on Saturday, April 4, at 10 a.m. The outdoor adventure takes place at Caporella Aquatic Center, 9300 NW 58th St. The spring event includes water games, poolside family crafts and age-group egg hunts for ages 10 and younger.
