 THE CITY OF TAMARAC WELCOMES JOHN R. HERIN JR. AS ITS NEW CITY ATTORNEY

 City Attorney John R. Herin Jr. Tamarac, Fla. (June 9, 2021) – During the City of Tamarac’s May 12 Commission meeting, John R. Herin Jr., Esq., a partner with Fox Rothschild LLP, was named Tamarac’s City Attorney.

Herin is a graduate of the Stetson University College of Law. His knowledge and understanding of local government law is backed by 30 years of experience. As the new City Attorney, Herin and his team of attorneys will use their Florida Bar board certifications in city, county, local government law, and litigation to provide sound advice and services to the City of Tamarac. Herin is known for his expertise in land use and zoning law. 

Previously, Herin has served as city attorney for Marathon, Islamorada, Miami Lakes, Doral, Biscayne Park and Palmetto Bay. He has also played a key role on several special counsel matters for various government agencies throughout the state.

In addition to Herin’s Bar certification, he is a member of the Florida Municipal Attorney’s Association, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and the Cuban American Bar Association. 

"I’m honored to be chosen as Tamarac's City Attorney," said Herin. "I look forward to working with the City Commission to successfully implement the City’s short - and long-term goals in a transparent manner.” Herin will work with the Mayor and Commission to continue to make the City of Tamarac a great place to build a family, build a business and build a life.

Herin and his family are long-time South Florida residents, currently residing in Lauderhill. As Herin often says, “I cannot go anywhere without passing through Tamarac.” Herin is happily married to his wife Jackie of 30 years. The couple are the proud parents of Madison and John III. Madison is a student at University of Columbia, slated to earn a Master’s of Public Health Policy in 2022. Also in 2022, John III will complete his studies at George Washington University, earning a bachelor’s degree in finance. In his free time Herin enjoys playing golf and spending time with family.
